Finally the starting gate

We are about to get this project ready to open!  As some of you know, we closed the shop for a couple of months while I took care of my Mom in her last days.  She is finally at peace, and we have been rearranging and refocusing our plan for the future. As much fun as the old shop was, it was becoming very labor intensive for this little old lady to handle.  So, some changes:

You may notice things are kind of sparse.  I have been trying for some time to simplify my life, and I'm going to apply the same principles here in the store.  Less can really be more.
So we have thinned our fabrics, and reorganized them - this is the new wall that is all basics and blenders - more to come!

We are expanding our line of Presencia threads.  We currently carry their 100% cotton quilting threads, and their embroidery floss - look at those beautiful colors!  We hope to have in the next few weeks their pearl cottons - I've been playing with size twelve in my embroidery, and I love it - especially not having to divide threads, since I tend to twist them up into knots!

We sold off a lot of fabrics, and have condensed them to one room, more or less, and will be adding some new, fun lines to the mix.

We have expanded our yarn selection, and are expecting Cascade 220 Superwash and Pima Cotton Yarns to arrive soon.  As well as Clover Bamboo needles we are carrying HiyaHiya in Bamboo, and now have Artisan Square knitting needles.  I didn't think I'd like them, but oh boy, yes I do!

And we have greatly expanded our Counted Cross Stitch kits, and stamped embroidery.
What used to be one 4 foot section is now two walls of their own.

Most all of these items will be available on our new website, which is just now up.  Heather is loading product as fast as she can, and I help out when I have time =-)

So this is our new sign - you'll see it in the front window as you drive thru town - if you are ever traveling this way, please stop in!

And in honor of our new "opening"  we are doing a give-away!  So leave us a comment, tell us what your favorite stitchery interests are, and the winners (3 of them) will receive a box full of goodies to fit their interests! I can't really show you a picture, since I don't know who's interests will win, but it will be something fun!  We will draw three winners on Sunday, June 23rd, at 1:00 MDT.  Please be sure we have a way to contact you to get a mailing address. And you must comment with your Stitchery interests.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I'm sure this has been a very difficult time. I'm excited for this new chapter for your shop though! My favorite stitching interests are definitely quilts...although I've done some embroidery and counted cross-stitch as well.

  2. Hi Patty, it's nice to 'meet' you. Thanks to Polly, for introducing us.

Thank you for hosting such a fantastic giveaway! Your shop looks wonderful, and I'm going to explore all your online merchandise (as I live way far away, down here in good ol' Alabama).

Many moons ago I sewed most of my kids clothes, and now I'm a newbie quilter expecting my first grandbaby (girl) in 30 days (if she minds what the Dr says).

Looking forward to following along on your blog.

  3. Excited for you and your new adventure. So sorry to hear about your Mom. I know it's been a long year or so for you and very stressful. My interests are mainly quilting, I have done little knitting, but need to learn more on that. Have only stitched scarves and dish clothes.

  5. Wow, I just found out about your little store and it looks so cute! I myself am a sewer and a quilter. Love all fabric, precuts and anything I can sew! I mostly quilt, make costumes, sometimes a bag, and sometimes a skirt for myself!

  6. I love the simplicity of the store. While I have dabbled in cross stitch, quilting is definitely my passion. I love bright, bold colors and modern quilt designs. If I'm ever in your area, I will definitely stop by. Looking forward to reading you blog!

  7. Just discovered your store through Polly. Sorry to hear about your mum. Wishing you the very best on this new chapter, your new store looks fabulous. Looking forward to reading updates on your blod. I'm a bit of a multi crafter. I love to knit, to sew (mostly quilting these days) and to cross stitch and always seem to have multiple projects on the go.
